SunSafe Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

The short version

SunSafe collects no data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no trackers, and no servers of ours. Everything you enter stays on your device.

Location

With your permission, SunSafe uses your device's location only to request the UV forecast for where you are. The coordinates are sent to Apple's WeatherKit service to retrieve weather data, subject to Apple Weather's terms. Your location is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it is not stored beyond fetching the forecast. You can decline location access and pick a city manually instead.

Your data on device

Your skin type, SPF preference, and sun-session history are stored only on your device (and nowhere else). Deleting the app deletes them permanently. You can also delete individual sessions in the History tab.

If you email feedback

Settings includes a "Send feedback" option that opens your own mail app with a message addressed to me. Nothing is sent unless you send it, and you can edit or delete anything in it first — including the line listing your app version, iOS version, and device model, which is there to help me track down bugs. Mail you send arrives in a personal inbox and is used only to reply to you. It isn't added to a mailing list or shared with anyone.

Notifications

Peak-UV and reapply alerts are scheduled locally on your device. No push servers are involved.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the update will be posted at this page with a new date above.
