UV index & personal sunburn timer — know your safe time in the sun.
Estimates are based on WHO UV guidance, your skin type, and your sunscreen's SPF, with a built-in safety margin. Individual sensitivity varies — SunSafe is guidance, not medical advice.
UV data needs an internet connection and either location access or a chosen city. Check your connection, then tap Try again — or pick a city manually via Search your city (also available in Settings → Location).
Make sure notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → SunSafe → Notifications. If they're off, the app shows a warning in Settings with a shortcut to fix it. Quiet hours (22:00–08:00) can also delay a peak alert.
Everything stays on your device — SunSafe has no accounts and collects no data. Swipe left on any session in History to delete it, or delete the app to remove everything.
SunSafe requires iOS 17 or later. Live Activities appear on the lock screen and Dynamic Island; the Control Center button requires iOS 18.
